This company did the excavation outside our home for the replacement of sewage and clean water line, working with our plumbing company. Great job, very pleasant to deal with and left the site clean.

Answers to the questions we hear most often about drains, sewers and water service lines. For your specific situation, call us at 514 802-6246.
The most common signs are water or dampness in the basement, white stains (efflorescence) or cracks on the foundation walls, a musty smell, or orange rust deposits (iron ochre) in the sump. A French drain lasts about 25 to 30 years; if yours is older or clogged, it is often time to replace it.
For a residential home, the work usually takes a few days, depending on the length of the foundation, access to the property and the condition of the walls. We dig around the foundation, install the new drain in clean stone with a membrane, then backfill and level the ground. We give you a precise schedule with your quote.
Avoid using water (toilets, laundry) and first have the line checked by a plumber, ideally with a camera inspection. If the blockage comes from a collapsed, broken or root-filled pipe under the yard, it has to be excavated to be repaired or replaced: that is where we come in, working with your plumber.
Repeated basement backups, slow drains throughout the house, gurgling sounds, a sewer smell, or sinking lawn above the line. Tree roots and old clay or cast-iron pipes are frequent causes.
Lead can dissolve into drinking water and is harmful to health, especially for young children and pregnant women. There is no safe level of exposure. Replacing the lead service line with a new pipe is the only permanent way to remove this source.
Homes built before 1970 are the most likely to have a lead service line. The pipe entering the basement is then dull grey, soft, and shows a shiny mark when scratched; a magnet will not stick to it. Your municipality can also tell you whether your address is affected.
Yes, it is strongly recommended. Replacing only the public part leaves lead in the private portion on your property, and in Montréal the regulations actually require owners to replace their portion. Doing both at the same time avoids digging twice. We excavate the private portion of your service line, from the street to the foundation.
Yes. Once the work is done, we backfill, compact and level the ground, and leave the site clean. We explain ahead of time what will be affected (lawn, driveway, landscaping) so there are no surprises.
